Japanese to English Translator

Work Details

Translation into English and editing of IR materials, such as annual reports, which publicly listed companies use to communicate information to shareholders and investors

• Translate and write IR materials
• Work together with coordinators, proofreaders and checkers
• Support discussions regarding translated copy

Necessary
Qualifications

• Native English speaker with residency in Japan
• Advanced Japanese ability (Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test)
• Experience translating from Japanese to English

Helpful
Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience in IR
• Experience producing IR materials
• Experience translating financial or securities-related documents

Details

• Employment form: Contract employee
• An interview process of 2-3 interviews and aptitude testing
• Envisaged annual salary: Starting at ¥4.5 million
• Annual salary system, reviewed yearly
• Working hours: 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (standard working hours)
• Holidays include weekends, national holidays, and the New Year period in addition to paid leave and leave for bereavements or to refresh
• Insurance: Health insurance, employment insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, and welfare pension
